Dutch artist Sema Bekirovic's photographs, films and installations are often play with reflection in combination with nature. Her 'Props' installation for example consists of three sided (theatre stage prop-like) models of skyscrapers which have been placed in the desert, resembling building projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Brussels based textile designer Linda Topic and interior architect Christine Högner has designed these simple yet clever pieces of furniture.

Création Baumann has developed a technique that creates depth and pattern to fabrics by cutting into them. Perfect as a divider or purely as a decorative interior element.

Canadian Loyal Luxe has a small but lovely range of pet products and I particularly like their new cardboard cat houses such as 'The Native American Teepee' and 'The Canadian Cabin'. I wish they did Labrador sized ones.

I love the mirrored effect of the cantilever of the Nhow Hotel in Berlin by NPS Tchoban Voss. It adds an interesting and fascinating element to an otherwise quite plain design. Photography by Patricia Parinejad.

French photographer Georges Rousse has taken these stunning photographs of abandoned spaces in which he has painted geometrical shapes to create optical illusions. 

Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota who's currently based in Berlin has made a huge number of interesting installations. Here are two examples, the first is the 'In Silence' exhibition in Moscow Biennale in 2009 and the second is a set design from Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden, Germany, also from 2009. 

Daniele Del Nero's 'After Effects' is a series of architectural scale models made in black paper which he has covered in flour and small samples of mould that is left to grow. This is the result - Stunning!

The Miss Maple lamp by German designer Elisa Strozyk is made from her incredible 'wooden fabric'. The flexible material consists of fragmented veneer which is attached to a textile base which is translucent gap between the pieces which creates the pattern.

We Make Carpets is a project by designers Stijn van der Vleuten, Marcia Nolte and visual artist Bob Waardenburg. They are fascinated by the great amount of different materials available on the market today and say that  the possibilities for 'We Make Carpets' seem endless. Their website is well worth visiting with carpets made from many different and interesting materials.

Portland based CGI artist Kim Kazanjian's digital collages explore the surrealist side of space and architecture, illustrating a fantasy-driven world that seemingly celebrates relics and decay.
